Jodorowsky’s Dune

Alejandro Jodorowsky and Iain Sinclair in conversation at the British Library, following a screening of Frank Pavich’s excellent documentary about the greatest-film-never-made opened with a quote from Viktor Emil Frankl – What is to give light, must endure burning. It was a tough gig for Sinclair, who eventually just sat back and yielded to all the torchlight charisma and anecdote. He did however get a tarot reading off the old warrior – Pope, Moon, Strength – with Alejandro first assuring the audience ‘I am not Aleister Crowley! But between you and me, he understood nothing! No! Also, T. S. Eliot!’

‘It’s like that!’ he said later, shrugging off his own ineffable genius, ‘What I can do?!’

Indeed. See this documentary if you can.
